Passengers departing either from Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi and Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai are served with breakfast, lunch and dinner on board Indian Maharaja Train along with complimentary mineral water and drinks. The alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages served in the train bar are not included in the journey cost.

9. Are disabled people able to travel on the Indian Maharaja?

There is no facility available for disabled passengers to travel on board Indian Maharaja.

10. Can I smoke on board the Indian Maharaja?

Smoking on board Indian Maharaja Train is not permissible as per the guidelines issued by Indian Law.

11. Can I buy souvenirs or presents on board the train?

There is no facility available for buying souvenirs and gifts on board.

12. Can children travel on the Indian Maharaja?

Yes. Children below the age of 5 can travel free of cost if sharing accommodation with their parents. Also passengers can choose the option of having extra bunk bed costing USD 375 per person per night + tax. If two children's aged 11 years are accommodated in a separate cabin, then discounted fare of USD 375 and adult fare will be applicable for first and second child respectively.

13. What do I take to wear on the Indian Maharaja?

While travelling on board Indian Maharaja, we suggest you to dress in accordance with the occasion like smart casuals for dining in restaurants and comfortable clothes and walking shoes for sightseeing tour. For gala events, we recommend you to dress formally. If your journey is scheduled for winters, do pack warm clothes.

14. What languages does the staff on board the train speak?

The staff working on board is quite proficient in speaking English and can comfortably converse with the passengers travelling on board. If there is a requirement for a particular language speaking butler, do mention at the time of booking.

15. What currency do I need on board the Indian Maharaja?

Indian Maharaja extensively travels the destinations of India and therefore passengers must keep Indian currency with them. Foreign exchange counters are available on board and at various destinations travelled by this luxury tourist train.

16. How long does my journey take?

The two itineraries offered by Indian Maharaja Train- Delhi to Mumbai and Mumbai to Delhi- both of which last for 8 days and 7 nights.

17. Do I have to take the full journey?

A passenger has to complete the 8 days and 7 night's journey on board Indian Maharaja. If a person wishes to terminate the tour at any destination, no amount will be refunded.

18. Do you offer a honeymoon package?

A present, there are no offers in context of honeymoon tours. But if you want to celebrate any special occasion on board, we can try to accommodate you necessary requirements.

19. Will I need insurance for my trip?

Indian Maharaja is comprehensively insured for unforeseen events such as earthquake, fire and terrorism. There is an umbrella insurance cover for guests but for that they are required to bring necessary insurance documents from their home country regarding illness, accident, injury, luggage lost and death.

20. Will there be room in my compartment for all my luggage?

Your personal cabins have a very little storage space, therefore passengers are advised to carry luggage according as per the international airline rules. We recommend you to bring soft-topped luggage as they are easy to store.

21. Will I need to tip the Indian Maharaja staff?

Any sort of tips and gratuities is a matter of personal discretion.

22. Will I require visas for a trip on the Indian Maharaja?

Except for passengers from India, Bhutan and Nepal, all foreign passengers need to have visas. Visas can be available for 3 duration- Trans-visa, 3/6 month visas and 1/5 year visas. Your passport must be accompanied by complete application form and 3 passport size photographs. If you are applying for a visa at Indian Embassy, make your payments either in cash or postal order along with stamped self address envelope.
